DESSERT, SNACK AND GIFTS IDEAS

Unlike the other Menu Idea pages, these are sometimes less focused on quickness and more on really wonderful treats for special occasions. The exception is the snack; those noted with the category of "Snack" are often make-ahead-types.

Right now they are arranged alphabetically below; you can click on the "Dessert, Snack and Gift Categories" in order to search by category. I've tried to add categories for the major or unusual ingredients. Eventually I hope there will be enough that you can head over to the categories and click on the ingredient in case you need an idea for how to use up some extra ingredients.

Chipotle Spiced Nuts

Recipe here. These are the best spiced nuts I've ever had.  Addictive and a complete hit with almost every fan of spicines who's ever had them.  Great for gifts or snacks.  Can be frozen.  Ships well.

Chocolate Whiskey Bundt Cake w/Fluthered Whipped Cream

Cake recipe here.  It's shown with a caramel sauce, but I prefer it with Fluthered Whipped Cream, recipe here. (Haven't tried the version of the cake in that link.)

This is ALWAYS a winner with everyone who's tried it.  It also is extremely moist and ships/lasts well.

Coffee Caramel Sauce

Recipe here.  Outrageously good, and, other than the whole scary caramelization process, pretty easy.  Amazing over plain vanilla ice cream.

Orange-Blossom Almond Frozen Yogurt

Here's the story behind this recipe that I made up all by myself. (Or you can just see the recipe here.)   This is a favorite of my friends Sarah and Owen.  The orange blossom is floral slightly floral but the almond rounds it out for a nicely-balanced and refreshing Middle Eastern flavor. Loverly!

Spicy Slow Cooker Tamari Almonds

Recipe here.  I just posted that the Chipotle Spiced Nuts are the best nuts I've ever tasted, but I just realized that lately the Spicy Tamari Almonds have been elbowing them out for top spots. I have a jar of each on my counter right now and really, it's neck and neck as to which I take.  Make both and see what you think.
