Booze News You Can Use

It's been a while since I've done a Link Round-Up.  Here are some interesting alkiehol-soaked posts out there that could be great gift ideas for the wine or liqueur connoisseur in your life...

Slashfood has a recipe for homemade Honey Liqueur that sounds delicious and especially appealing as I am under the weather this week and would prefer a tastier alternative to the Nyquil shot before bed.

Chow.com has a simple yet intriguing recipe for Black Tea-Infused Vodka that is used in their Teatini cocktail.

Chow also has a list of recipes for making your own digestifs like limoncello.  They also have Meyer lemon, Mandarin orange, regular orange, fennel and basil.

If you don't have time to make your own, YumSugar has a post about the first USDA certified organic liqueurs from Loft in lavender, tangerine, ginger and lemongrass.

Slashfood posts about the sleek-looking WinePod, "the first-ever personal winery. It is a self–contained, computer–controlled unit...The company provides the grapes, as well as all the tools you'll need to cask and bottle your vino."  It's costs $4,499 so maybe currently an option mainly for those in recession-proof industries like organized crime or being-born-to-rich-people.

For the rest of us, The Seattle Times has a Wine Adviser article dedicated to budget wines for holiday celebrations.
