It's the Season for Sunburst Squash (Searches)
Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 08:00AM My, you folks out there appear to be having a bumper crop of summer squash, especially sunburst.

The past few weeks have seen a drastic uptick in visitors, most arriving from searches for sunburst squash, both general questions and queries for recipes. I told my friend Sarah it's interesting to see the seasons change via search traffic, from spring (Top Chef-related queries, mainly for Jennifer Biesty) to summer (what do I do with this vegetable I now have a bunch of?).
I Got to Know sunburst squash back in April. I have to admit I was not a fan at the time, but the volume of enthusiasm or at least curiosity about the vegetable makes me wonder if I should give it another shot.
At the least, I will be shortly posting the Recipe Results for another preparation I tried back in April. My lack of excitement about the squash meant I didn't follow through on putting up the info, but if I were to try it again, this would be the way to go as it was a really lovely technique.
Hopefully this will be helpful to those whose successful gardening has left them scrambling for ways to put the squash to use.
I think I was also able to satisfy someone recently who came to the site with an entirely different search. Someone wanted to find the "Saddest Thing Ever." Of course, I can't be certain, but I am fairly confident they found it.
